Replacing a key
If a key is lost, see an authorized Audi dealer or
authorized Audi Service Facility. Have this key de-
act ivat ed. It is import ant to bring a ll keys wit h
you . If a key is lost, you should report it to your
insurance company.
Number of keys
You can check the number of keys assigned to
your veh icle in the Infotainment system. To do
this, select: the

This way, you can make sure that you
have all the keys when purchasing a used vehicle.
Electronic immobilizer
The immobilizer prevent s una uthorized use of
the vehicle.
Under certain circumstances, the vehi cle may not
be able t o start if the re is a key from a different
vehicle manufact ure r on the key chain.
Data in the master key
When driving, service and maintenance-relevant
data is continuously stored on your remote con-
trol key. Your Audi service advisor can read out
this dat a and tell yo u about the work your vehicle
needs. This applies a lso to vehicles wit h a con-
venience key*.
Personal comfort settings
If two people use one vehicle, it is recommended
that each person always uses "their own" master
key. When t he ignition is turned off or when the
veh icle is locked, persona l convenience settings
for the following systems are stored and as-
signed to the remote master key.
- Climate control system
- Parking aid*
- Active lane assist*
- Side assist*
- Drive select

The stored settings are automatically recalled
when you unlock the vehicle, open the doors or
turn on the ignition .
_& WARNING
Always take the vehicle key with you when
leaving the vehicle, even for a short period of
time. This applies particularly when ch ildren
rema in in the vehicle . Otherwise the children
could start t he engine or operate e lectrical
eq ui pment such as power windows.

The operation of the remote control key can
be temporarily d isrupted by interference from
transmitters in the vicinity of the vehicle
working in the same frequency range (e.g. a
cell phone, rad io equipment) . Always check if
your vehicle is locked!
Removing the mechanical key
