Engine Does Not Develop Full Power

Distributor:
(a)
Point gap incorrect.
Readjust point gap. Refer to "Tune- Up',
page 1-69.
Check and adjust timing. Refer to HTune-
Up", page 1-69.
(b)
Ignition timing incorrect.
2. Low voltage to spark plugs caused
by defective coil.
Replace coil.
Clean plugs and reset the gap. Refer to
"Tune-Up", page 1-69.
3. Fouled spark plugs.

Carburetor:
Float level set too low
(a)
Check float level. Reset if necessary.
Reposition choke control linkage.
(b)
Choke plates partially restricted. .
Restricted
throttle linkage.
Repair or replace.
(c)
5.
Insufficient air to engine.
Service the air cleaner.
6.
Late valve timing. Check and adjust timing. Refer to
"Specifications. "
Tighten manifold or install new gasket
if necessary.
7. Air leaks around intake manifold.
8.
Exhaust restricted.
Remove restriction.
9. Lack of compression.
