Turning off and turning on your
handheld
To turn off your handheld, press and hold the

Warning: If you turn off your handheld using the
Turn Power Off icon on the Home screen, Calendar reminders and
Alarm notifications do not turn on the handheld. Set the Auto On/Off

The Home screen displays the date and time, the wireless coverage
indicator (showing the current signal strength), the type of
connection to the wireless network, the battery power indicator
(showing the current battery level of your handheld), and the
application icons. The Home screen also displays notification of any
new items, reminders, or alarms.
Depending on the status of your connection to the wireless network,
1X appears on the Home screen when you can send and receive
email, PIN, and SMS messages. You can also place and answer
phone calls and browse web pages. Refer to the Handheld User Guide
for more information on network status icons.
Use the trackwheel to scroll through the application icons. The
name of each application appears at the bottom of the screen. To
open an application, scroll to the appropriate icon and click the
trackwheel.
