The optical-drive bay supports the following devices. Depending on your computer model, one of them might
be installed:
• Optical drive
• 5.25-inch flex module equipped with some or all of the following components:
– Slim optical drive
– Card reader (9-in-1)
– eSATA connector
– IEEE 1394 connector
– Thunderbolt adapter kit
• Front-access storage enclosure
• Slim Optical Drive Adapter
• Multi-drive Conversion Kit
2 Card-reader bay (available on some models)
A card reader might be installed in this bay.
3 Secondary hard-disk-drive bay
A 2.5-inch hard disk drive or solid-state drive might be installed in this bay.
