Safety precautions

Read this instruction manual carefully. Keep the instruction
manual in a safe place. If the appliance changes owners, the
instructions should always be passed on.

Before installation

Damage during transport
Check the appliance for damage after unpacking it. Do not
connect the appliance if it has been damaged in transit.
Electrical connection
Only a licensed expert may connect the appliance. You will lose
your warranty entitlement in the event of any damage caused
by incorrect connection.

Safety notes

This appliance is intended for domestic use only. This
appliance must only be used for food preparation.
Adults and children must not operate the appliance without
supervision,
if they are physically or mentally incapable of doing so or
if they have insufficient knowledge or experience.
Never let children play with the appliance.
This appliance is only intended for cooking purposes, not as a
heating system.
Hot surfaces

Risk of burns!
Never touch the hotplates, the internal surfaces of the
cooking compartment or the heating elements when they are
hot. Small children must be kept at a safe distance from the
appliance. Take note of the residual heat indicator on the
hob. It warns you if the hotplates are still hot.
Never prepare food containing large quantities of drinks with
a high alcohol content. Alcoholic vapours can catch fire in the
cooking compartment. Only use small quantities of drinks
with a high alcohol content and open the appliance door
carefully.

Risk of fire!
Never place flammable objects on the hob or store them in the
cooking compartment. Never open the appliance door if there
is smoke inside. Switch off the appliance. Pull out the mains
plug or switch off the appliance at the circuit breaker in the fuse
box.

Risk of short circuit!
Do not trap leads of electrical appliances in the hot appliance
door or pull them over the hob when it is hot. The cable
insulation could melt.

Risk of scalding!
Never pour water into the hot cooking compartment. This will
produce hot steam.

Hot steam may escape when the appliance door is opened.
Open the appliance door carefully during or after cooking.
When opening, do not stand too close to the appliance. Ensure
that, depending on the temperature, steam is not visible.

Hot accessories and ovenware

Risk of burns!
Never remove ovenware or accessories from the cooking
compartment without an oven cloth or oven gloves.
Overheated oil and fat

Risk of fire!
Overheated oil or fat can ignite very quickly. Never leave hot oil
or fat unattended. Never attempt to extinguish burning fat or oil
with water. Extinguish the flames with a lid or a plate. Switch the
hotplate off.
Wet saucepan bases and hotplates
ã=
Risk of injury!
Steam pressure may build up if there is liquid between the
saucepan base and the hotplate. This may cause the pan to
jump suddenly. Always keep the hotplate and saucepan bases
dry.
Cracks in the ceramic

Risk of electric shock.!
Switch off the circuit breaker in the fuse box if the ceramic has
fractures, flaws or cracks. Call the after-sales service.
Safety during cleaning

Risk of burns!
The appliance becomes hot during operation. Allow the
appliance to cool down before cleaning.
Improper repairs
ã=
Risk of electric shock!
Improper repairs are dangerous. Repairs may only be carried
out by one of our trained after-sales engineers. If the appliance
is defective, pull out the mains plug or switch off the appliance
at the circuit breaker in the fuse box. Call the afterаsales
service.
Oven door - Additional safety precautions
During long cooking times, the oven door may become very
hot.
If you have small children, extra supervision is required during
oven operation.
In addition, there is a protective device (protective grid) which
prevents direct contact with the oven door. You can purchase
this optional accessory (469088) from the after-sales service.

Causes of damage

Hob
Caution!
Rough pot and pan bases scratch the ceramic.
Avoid boiling pots dry. This may cause damage.
Never place hot pots or pans on the control panel, the
display area or the surround. This may cause damage.
Damage can occur if hard or pointed objects fall on the hob.
Aluminium foil and plastic containers melt on hot hotplates.
Oven protective foil is not suitable for your hob.
