FaderPort
At the time of publication, the FaderPort 16 does not feature a customized MCU
mode for Ableton Live. However, because of the way Ableton has implemented the
MCU protocol, using MCU (Logic) will provide the most functionality and flexibility.
Press the first two Select buttons while powering on the FaderPort 16 to open the
boot mode screen.
Press the Select button below the scribble strip that displays "MCU (Logic). "

Once you have selected your mode, press the Select button below the "Exit" screen
to reboot your FaderPort. This mode will be selected automatically every time you
boot your FaderPort 16.
Once you have connected your FaderPort 16 to your computer, launch
Live to set up the FaderPort 16 as a Mackie Control Universal device.
Because Mackie Control Universal is an 8-channel protocol, you will need
to create two devices: one Mackie Control and one Mackie ControlXT.
1. Go to Live | Preferences
2. Choose the Link MIDI tab and set Control Surface 1 to Mackie
Control and the Input and Output to "PreSonus FP16 (Port 1). "
3. Make sure that Track, Sync, and Remote are all enabled for
both the Input and the Output of "MackieControl. "
4. Set Control Surface 2 to Mackie ControlXT and the
Input and Output to "PreSonus FP16 (Port 2). "
5. Make sure that Track, Sync, and Remote are all enabled for
both the Input and the Output for both devices.
6. Close the Preferences window.
Your FaderPort 16 is now set up and ready to use. Enjoy!
