Item Selection
Hardware The processor has a hardware prefetcher
Prefetcher that automatically prefetches data and in-
structions from the memory into the Level
2 cache that are likely to be required in
the near future. This reduces the latency
associated with memory reads.
When enabled, the processor's hardware
prefetcher will be enabled and allowed to
automatically prefetch data and code for
the processor.
When disabled, the processor's hardware
prefetcher will be disabled.
Adjacent Select to enable or disable prefetching of
Cache Line P adjacent line
DCU Stream- Enable prefetch of next L1 Data Line
er Prefetch based on multiple loads in the same
cache line.
DCU IP Enable prefetch of next L1 line based on
Prefetcher sequential load history.
Intel Virtual- The Intel VT is a hardware-assisted virtual-
ization ization. This processor supports Intel Vir-
tualization. Enable or disable this feature.
CPU Configuration Settings
You can use this menu to configure SATA mode and
enable/disable certain SATA technologies.
SATA Mode Selection
The system supports advanced SATA features such as
software RAID.

IDE Mode Set to IDE mode when your want to use the
Serial-ATA hard disk drives as Parallel ATA physical
storage devices.
AHCI Mode Set to AHCI mode when you want the SATA
hard disk drives to use the AHCI (Advanced
Host Controller Interface). The AHCI allows the
onboard storage driver to enable advanced SATA
features that increases storage performance or
workloads where multiple simultaneous read/
write requests are outstanding, most often
occurring in server-type applications (native
command queuing). It also facilitates hot
swapping.
