SMPTE 259M-C standard. Also, the serial digital video outputs carry EDH data according to the SMPTE RP165 standard. The ASD-211i/2D is a member of the imaging family of digital video modules and therefore requires the imaging Quartet, imaging Quartet-C, Symphonie or imaging Solo tray for mounting and power.

2.3.2 imaging Symphonie Frame To install the Symphonie label, follow these steps while referring to Figure 2.2. 1. On Symphonie’s rear panel, locate the appropriate connectors. 2. Remove the rear label mounting screws from the rear module. 3. Carefully apply the label to the connectors making sure the label’s text is read from top to bottom.

NTSC/PAL IN. B&W The B&W LED, located within the set of INPUT LEDs, will turn on when the ASD-211i/2D has detected a composite signal with no color burst. The ERR (error) LED will turn on if no input composite signal is installed.
  • Page 14: Input Detection Modes

ASD-211i/2D exits from the menu, returns to normal and attempts to locate the correct format. However, the ASD-211i/2D will not exit the menu if an input format is forced.
  • Page 15: Decoding Filter

3.4 Decoding Filter The ASD-211i/2D provides several types of decoding filters, as shown in figures below. The selection of the filter will depend highly on the nature of the input composite video. Generally, optimal decoding is obtained with 3-line or 2-line filters.
  • Page 16: Automatic Input Calibration

For a 100% color bars input, the pixel value of white must be 940. If the ASD-211i/2D reads a value other than 940, it will amplify or attenuate the input signal accordingly. It will repeat this procedure until 940 is read.
  • Page 17: Setup

3.6 Setup A setup range of -15 IRE to +15 IRE may be added to or removed from the input signal in increments of 0.2 IRE. At all times, the selected setup should be equal to the setup present on the input signal. When 7.5 IRE setup is selected, the 7.5 LED is on and when a 0 IRE setup is selected, the 0 LED is on.
  • Page 18: Gain

3.7 Gain Luminance and chrominance gain can be controlled independently or simultaneously. 3.7.1 Luminance Gain Luminance gain has a range of 0 to 175%. Follow these steps to set the luminance gain level: 1. From the main menu, press SELECT five times to enter the LUMA GAIN menu. During this time, the LUMA LED flashes.

NOTE: Normally, V ANC should not be set to USER if there is no ICP-S communication. However, you may use ICP-S to configure V ANC and download the parameters to the ASD-211i/2D. This way, you may select USER (without ICP-S communication) to load the V ANC parameters previously downloaded.
  • Page 21: Stored Configurations

4 Stored Configurations The ASD-211i/2D provides 4 stored configurations: one for each of the four formats- NTSC, PAL-B,G,H,I, PAL-M, and PAL-N. If, for instance, a new decoding filter is selected, it will be stored in one of two ways: after you have pressed SELECT or after a 1-minute interval during which no push-button was pressed.
