28 Chapter 4: Cabling interfaces and ports
The T3/E3 network interface receives and transmits data over two 75-ohm coaxial cables
with BNC connectors. These cables are shipped with protective caps on the BNC connec-
tors. Leave the caps in place until you are ready to connect the cables.

Maximum lengths
T3: 450 ft (137 m) maximum from transmitter to cross-connect and 450 ft (137 m) maxi-
mum from cross-connect to receiver.
E3: 274 m (900 ft) maximum.
