Handling o f b attery a nd c harger
In o rder t o a chieve t he l ongest p ossible b attery l ife, t he f ollowing n otes s hould b e o bserved:
- T he c harger i s n ot a ctivated w hen t he b attery t emperature i s b elow + 3 2 ° F a nd a bove + 1 40 ° F . T herefore, b efore c harging, b ring t he b attery t o
about r oom t emperature.
- T he c harger i s a m icrocomputer-controlled s ystem, w ith m any m onitoring a nd c ontrol f unctions.
- T he c harger i nterrupts c harging w hen t he b attery i s f ully c harged.
- T his w ill n ot o vercharge t he b attery. N evertheless, w e r ecommend l eaving t he b attery o n t he c harger o nly i f t he b icycle i s t o b e u sed a gain i n t he
foreseeable f uture ( several d ays).
- B attery s hould n ot b e c onnected t o t he c harger d uring e xtended p eriods o f n on-use.
- K eep t he b attery a t 4 0 - 6 0% b attery c apacity i n a d ry p lace a t a pprox. 5 0 ° t o 6 8 ° F w hen s toring ( eg i n w inter).
- R echarge e very 3 m onths f or 2 h ours.
- If the battery is to be used again after a long period of non-use (for example after winter shutdown), the battery should be left on the charger for
approx. 1 d ay.

NOTE
Self-discharge
As a result of predominantly chemical processes in gas-tight cells, the battery discharges itself as a function of the time of the charge state, and the
ambient c onditions ( temperature, h umidity).
A s elf-discharge i s n ormal.
However, this self-discharge can lead to low-voltage discharge, if not regularly recharged. A low-voltage discharge means a defect and makes the
battery u nusable.
