Chassis Maintenance

For warranty and safety considerations, SGI designates the following chassis components as
customer-replaceable units:
• Power supplies
• Fans
• Disk drives
The disk drives and power supplies are hot-swappable; that is, you can replace them without
powering down the server. As a safety precaution, replacing the fans requires a system
power-down. A trained service technician should install and replace all other components.
