    Administrative mode. Before using SWSIP-1000, some setup processes are required to make the phone work properly. You should at least setup the IP address of SWSIP-1000 and router when DHCP is disabled. When DHCP server is available, you can skip the process of setting up the SWSIP-1000 IP address.

    SWSIP-1000 User Manual 4.4 SIP Configuration Your SWSIP-1000 is a SIP client and must connect to a SIP server. The SIP proxy server receives your SWSIP-1000’s SIP requests and forwards them to the next SIP server in the network. Use the following screen to set up your SWSIP-1000 to connect to the SIP server.

The following screen displays the IP address and port number of an outbound proxy server the SWSIP-1000 uses to connect to the outbound proxy server.

    SWSIP-1000 User Manual 4.6.1 Calling Methods The SWSIP-1000 can dial a telephone number by using the SIP proxy server or an IP address. Select Proxy to use your SIP account to have the SIP server make the connection. You do not have to configure the host IP address and port.

    Both the wireless stations and the access points must use the same WEP key. Your SWSIP-1000 allows you to configure up to four 64-bit or 128-bit WEP keys but only one key can be enabled at any one time.

Choosing a voice codec depends on a tradeoff between transmission speed, sound quality and desired bandwidth usage. G.711 provides higher voice quality than G.729 but requires 64kbps of bandwidth while G.729 only requires 8kbps.
