with fresh water.
Removal of Soot In Heating Coil:
In the heating process, fuel residue in the form of soot
de pos its may develop between the heating coil pipe
and block air fl ow which will affect burner combustion.
When soot has been detected on visual observation,
the soot on the coil must be washed off after coil has
been re moved using the following steps:
1. Remove the tank head assembly by unscrewing
the three tek screws and lifting the tank head off.
2. Remove the two pipe nipples and associated
fi t tings.
3. Lift the coil out of the outer wrap.
CAUTION: The coil weighs about 80 lbs. Use prop er
lift ing tech niques.
4. Clean, repair and replace the coil by reversing the
above steps.
Coil Reinstallation:
Reinstall by reversing the above steps 4 through 1.

Rupture Disk:

If pressure from pump or thermal expansion should
ex ceed safe limits, the rupture disk will burst, allowing
high pressure to be discharged through hose to ground.
When the disk ruptures, it will need to be replaced.
Fuel:
Use clean fuel oil that is not contaminated with water
and debris. Replace fuel fi lter and drain tank every
100 hours of operation. Use Kerosene No. 1 or No. 2
Heat ing Fuel (ASTM D306) or diesel only. NEV ER use
gas o line in your burn er tank. Gas o line is more com bus-
ti ble than fuel oil and could result in a se ri ous ex plo sion.
NEVER use crank case or waste oil in your burn er. Fuel
unit mal func tion could re sult from con tam i na tion.
Ignition Circuit:
Periodically inspect wires, spring contact and elec-
trodes for con di tion, security and prop er spac ing. For
trans form er test (CAU TION 10,000 VOLTS) use
defect free insulated screwdriver and keep fi ngers off
blade! Lay blade across one contact: OK if arc will
span 1/2" be tween end of blade and other contact.

MAINTENANCE
Electrode Setting:
Electrode
Electrodes Check: Periodically check wiring connections.
Burner Nozzle:
Keep the tip free of surface de pos its by wiping it with
a clean, solvent-sat u rat ed cloth, being care ful not to
plug or enlarge the nozzle. For maximum ef fi cien cy,
re place the nozzle each season.
Fuel Control System:
This machine utilizes a fuel solenoid valve located on
the fuel pump to control the fl ow of fuel to the com bus-
tion cham ber. This solenoid is ac ti vat ed by a pressure
switch lo cat ed on the unloader valve. When an op er a-
tor re leas es the trig ger on the spray gun, the pressure
drops, al low ing the pres sure switch to activate the fuel
so le noid. The solenoid then clos es, shutting off the
supply of fuel to the combustion chamber. Controlling
the fl ow of fuel in this way gives an in stan ta neous burn
or no burn sit u a tion, there by elim i nat ing high and low
wa ter tem per a tures, and com bus tion smoke nor mal ly
as so ci at ed with ma chines in cor po rat ing a spray gun.
Pe ri od ic in spec tion is rec om mend ed to in sure that the
fuel so le noid valve func tions prop er ly. This can be done
by op er at ing the ma chine and check ing to see that
when the trig ger on the spray gun is in the off position,
the burner is not fi r ing.
