Updating software
The latest =!C 250 Arypton/4ntour firmware is available from the support area of the =artin web site at
www.martin.d7. It can be installed via the serial data lin7 using a supported =artin uploader such as the
=QK2, or via a dightqoc7ey 4064 IS! D=c interface.
Note: Intermediate control systems such as the =artin dighting Director (=dD) and the =artin =atrix must
be bypassed when updating fixture software via the D=c lin7. These systems do not relay the update code
correctly because it is not a D=cKcompliant signal.
N O R M A L U P D A T E
To update fixture software, connect an upload device to the fixture Wust li7e a D=c controller and perform a
D=c mode upload as described in the uploadergs documentation. There is no need to isolate the =!C 250
Arypton/4ntours from other types of fixtures on the serial lin7.
_hen the upload is completed (and when booting up) the =!C 250 Arypton/4ntour performs a chec7Ksum
test of the flash memory and then resets. If the firmware is corrupted a chec7Ksum error (
few seconds later the fixture displays
In the unli7ely event that a software upload is interrupted, the fixture must be powered off for at least 10
seconds to force the chec7Ksum test. You can repeat the D=cKmode upload as soon as

If the normal update procedure fails or the software update notes call for a bootKsector update, install new
software as follows.
1. Disconnect the fixture from !C power.
2. Remove the leftKside yo7e cover (when loo7ing at the head in the text in the upright position from the
bac7 as indicated in the illustration) to access the QCb.
3. The boot sector Wumper is located next to the plug for the
control panel data cable. =ove the Wumper to the Init setting.
aerify that the Plash _rite Wumper is in the 4nable position.

4. !pply power and perform a bootKmode upload as described
in the uploader manual.
5. Disconnect the fixture from !C power. =ove the Wumper
bac7 to the doc7 setting.
6. ReKattach the yo7e cover.
