(11) Focus loop gain adjustment NG
This error occurs only when the gain cannot be adjusted in the specified range.
Therefore, this error rarely occurs.
Out-of-range gain due to using a low-sensitivity pickup or abnormality on the circuit tends to
result in other errors.
(12) Tracking loop gain adjustment NG
Same as above (11)
(13) Equalizer adjustment NG
When time-out occurred while adjusting equalizer
Command may not be sent to the servo system, or the register cannot be read.
Because suitability of the adjustment value is not judged, improper adjustment may not be the
only cause of this error.
(If out of adjustment, ends after adjusting to default value.)
(14) Spindle CLV NG
Spindle control system is defective, or equalizer adjustment value is abnormal.
*
When spindle control system is abnormal, refer to (9) above.
*
When equalizer adjustment value is abnormal
After filtering signal from IC201"17" (JITOUT(TP203)), is DC voltage of TP203 lower than 2.17V?
(Connect to an oscilloscope and press the PLAY key.)
.•@When higher than 2.17V, due to improper adjustment caused by defective mechanical unit,
IC101 or IC201, or abnormality in IC301
.•@When lower than 2.17V, due to defective input to A/D"75" of JIOUT of IC301, although this
rarely occurs.
(15) Address read NG
Continuity of CRC OK and address is checked.
Press the PLAY key.
*
Is signal output from pin 121 of IC351 to IC301"30" (CRC OK)?
OK
OK
(16) Layer change jump NG (double-layer disc only)
*
This error occurs if blooming occurred during jump for changing layers.
Because all adjustments for L1 layer must be successful, this error may rarely be due to a
circuit defect.
*
Crosstalk might occur from tracking to focus system. (See (4) in Servo Volume 2.)
Replace the mechanical unit.
*
Is SRF (CN101"7") at "H" level?
If this results in NG, the error probably occurred prior to CLV.
*
Voltage of JITOUT
Even when lower than 2.17V, mechanical unit may be the cause if this voltage is from
1.9 to 2.0V.
*
IC351 is defective.
For double-layer discs, after checking CLV on layer L1, jumps to layer L0 after mode changes
to FG. Then tracking is turned off, and adjustments are executed from the focus balance
coarse adjustment in order.
Errors which occur on layer L0 are given error codes of "90" or greater.

This error occasionally occurs (during kick, etc.)
(If this error occurs 3 to 4 times consecutively, check the
following item.)
