DIMM

Install a Dual In-line Memory Module (DIMM) in a DIMM slot on the motherboard. The motherboard is equipped
with four slots for installing DIMMs.

• Use only DIMM authorized by NEC. Installation of a third party's DIMM will cause

damage not only to the DIMM but also the workstation. If the workstation needs
repair resulting from the use of a third party's product, it is repaired at a cost
even during the guarantee period.
• You must avoid static electricity to work with the procedure below. For details,
see Chapter 2 (1.2 Anti-static Measures).
Tips
•
The value shown on SETUP is smaller than the actual physical memory capacity,
depending on the configuration of PCI card. The same value is also shown in memory
count during POST, BIOS SETUP Utility, and System Information of OS.
•
Maximum memory capacity supported by 32-bit OS: 4 GB
•
Maximum memory capacity supported by 64-bit OS: 32 GB
