Routing - Basics

2.3 Multinetting

Multinetting allows you to connect a number of subnets to one router port.
Multinetting provides a solution for when you want to connect existing sub-
nets to a router within a physical medium. In this case you can use multi-
netting to assign a number of IP addresses for the different subnets to the
routing port to which you are connecting the physical medium.
For a long-term solution, other network design strategies provide more
advantages with regard to problem solving and bandwidth management.
