When listening to a tape
recorded with the Dolby* B or C
type noise reduction
Press DOLBY NR so that "DOLBY
NR B" or "DOLBY NR C" appears
in the display according to the
noise reduction system used in
recording.
The Dolby noise reduction system
reduces tape hiss noise in low-
level high-frequency signals.

Automatic Source Selection
If you press TAPE ª · on
the remote while you are
listening to other sound
source and the tape deck is in
stop mode, the tape deck is
selected and play starts
automatically.
When "NO TAPE" is
displayed
There is no tape loaded in the
cassette holder.

Press ( (to play the front side) or 9 (to play the reverse
side).
The tape starts playing.

Press MASTER VOLUME + or – to adjust the volume.

To find the beginning of a track (AMS)
Using the AMS (Automatic Music Sensor) feature, you can quickly
find the track you're looking for. The deck senses where a music track
begins by detecting a blank space of more than four seconds between
tracks.
If the side of the
cassette being

Note
The AMS function may not work correctly if:
• the blank space between tracks is less than 4 seconds long.
• the signal strength of the left and right channels are very different.
• there is a passage of low frequencies or a very low volume within a track.
To play automatically after fast winding (auto play)
Use the controls on the speaker for this operation. The controls on the
remote cannot be used.
To start playing from the beginning of the front side, press ( while
holding down 0 .
To start playing from the beginning of the reverse side, press 9 while
holding down ) .
