Electronic ignition self-test

The electronic ignition for the gas hob
carries out a self-test as soon as the
first burner is switched on or the last
burner is switched off. The self-test
lasts about 1.5 seconds. If the self-test
is interrupted, this is counted as a
failure by the electronics and the light
ring on the rotary control will flash. The
rotary control for the griddle plate is
also equipped with a light ring. This
light ring does not flash if the self-test
was interrupted.
The following situations can cause this
error:
– You switch on the first burner.
Immediately after switching on
(during the self-test) you switch the
burner off and another one on. The
self-test will be interrupted by this.
The light ring on the rotary control will
flash.
– You switch the last burner off.
Immediately after switching off you
switch a burner on again. The light
ring on the rotary control will flash.
However the gas supply is cut off and
a gas leak is prevented.
If the rotary control is turned clockwise
to the  position (Off), the burner is
ready for use again after approx.
1.5 seconds.
