Using for the first time

Carrying out burning in

During the burning in process, the
griddle plate acquires a kind of anti-
stick coating that prevents food from
sticking. The griddle plate turns a
noticeably darker colour.
 Remove excess oil with a piece of
kitchen roll.
 Push the rotary control in and turn it
anti-clockwise to the large flame
symbol .
 Heat the griddle plate for 1 hour.
Smoke may develop while the griddle
plate is heating up. This is normal.
 Switch off the griddle plate.
 When the griddle plate has cooled
down sufficiently that it can be
touched, remove excess oil with a
piece of kitchen roll.
 Repeat the process twice more when
the griddle plate has cooled down
completely.
