Changing the internal battery pack

Before changing the internal battery pack, be
sure to exit all running programs and save all
data on the hard disk. This section explains how
to change the internal battery pack.
ELECTRIC SHOCK
• Before changing the internal battery
pack, be sure to turn off your
computer and disconnect the AC
adapter from it. To avoid shock
hazards and damage to your
computer, be careful not to touch
the connectors of the computer and
battery pack.
1. Turn off your computer and disconnect
the AC adapter from it.
2. Close the LCD panel, and turn and place
your computer upside down.
3. Remove the internal battery pack.
Remove the battery pack while pushing in
the tabs (x 2) on the battery.

4. Install a new battery pack.
Insert the new battery pack diagonally into
the battery bay, as shown in the figure below,
align the slit in the battery pack with the
projection on the computer, and push down
the battery pack until it clicks into place.

After removing the internal battery pack,
take necessary measures to prevent it from
shorting, for example, sealing its connector
with an insulating tape. After removing the
battery pack, do not mix it with other types
of battery.
The internal battery pack (lithium-ion
battery) contains precious resources.
Therefore, you should dispose of the
disused battery pack as a recyclable
material if possible.
