Problem
Air bubbles in fluid.
Exhaust air contains fluid being
pumped.
Moisture in exhaust air.
Pump exhausts excessive air at
stall*.
Pump leaks air externally.
Pump leaks fluid externally from
joints.
Pump leaks fluid externally through
manifold or fluid cover.
* A small amount of air will exhaust during stall if the pump is stopped while in the process of changing over. This is
normal. If desired, Valve Upgrade Kit 24K224 can be installed to minimize air exhausting.

Cause
Suction line is loose.
Diaphragm (and backup) ruptured.
Loose manifolds, damaged seats or
manifold o-rings.
Diaphragm shaft bolt o-ring dam-
aged.
Pump cavitation.
Loose diaphragm shaft bolt.
Diaphragm (and backup) ruptured.
Loose diaphragm shaft bolt.
Diaphragm shaft bolt o-ring dam-
aged.
High inlet air humidity.
Worn air valve cup or plate.
Damaged air valve gasket.
Damaged pilot valve.
Worn shaft seals or bearings.
Air tubing is damaged or loose
(remote air control models).
Remote air pressure is higher than
pump air pressure (remote air control
models).
Air valve or fluid cover screws loose. Tighten.
Diaphragm damaged.
Air valve gasket damaged.
Remote air pressure is higher than
pump air pressure (remote air control
models).
Loose manifold screws or fluid cover
screws.
Manifold o-rings worn out.
Excessive pump speed or inlet
starvation.
Troubleshooting
Solution

Replace gasket. See page 10.
Replace pilot valves. See page 15.
Replace shaft seals or bearings. See
page 15.
Replace tubing or secure connection.
Regulate remote pilot air pressure to
be equal to or less than main air.
Replace diaphragm. See page 15.
Replace gasket. See page 10.
Regulate remote pilot air pressure to
be equal to or less than main air.
Tighten manifold screws or fluid
cover screws. See page 18.
Replace o-rings. See page 14.
