Print
Purpose:
Prints a text file on a lineprinter wJbi'/e you are processing other
ms-dos commands (usually called background printing).
Syntax:
print [drive:][pathname][/d:device] [/bsize][/q:value] [/t][/c][/p]
Comments:
You can use the print command only if you have a lineprinter
attached to your computer. If you do have a lineprinter you can
use the following switches with this command:
/didevice
Specifies the print device name. If you do not
give this switch, print prompts for a print device.
If you do not specify one, the default device is
PRN (the first parallel printer connected to your
computer).
Other possible print device names are AUX, LPT1,
LPT2, LPT3, COM1, and COM2. These represent
the first, second, and third parallel printers, and
the first and second serial printers connected to
your computer.

The following switches are allowed only the first time you run the
print command after starting ms-dos:
Ib-size
Sets the size in bytes of the internal buffer. To
speed up the print command, you increase the
value of /b.
/qivalue
Specifies the number of files allowed in the print
queue — if you want more than 10. The minimum
value for the /q switch is 4, the maximum 32, and
the default, 10.
/t
Deletes all files in the print queue (those files
waiting to be printed).
/c
Turns on cancel mode and removes the preceding
filename and all following filenames from the
print queue.
/p
Turns on print mode and adds the preceding
filename and all following filenames to the print
queue.
