PROGRAMMING DSC OPTIONS
When power is applied to the radio, the
NMEA 0183 input is checked for positioning
information. If the data is not present or invalid,
the radio will prompt for positioning data 15
seconds after power is applied.
If the operator does not enter a position, the radio
will sound an alarm and prompt for a valid
position every 20 minutes. Manually entering a
valid position will suppress the alarm.
When the position is entered manually and no
NMEA 0183 positioning information is present,
the radio will sound an alarm 4 hours after the
last position was input and prompt the operator
to enter the current position.
To program a valid current position into the
radio, press
DSC
The operator is prompted for the global quadrant
for the following Latitude and Longitude
position. Select the quadrant.
When prompted for the degrees and minutes of
the latitude and longitude, use the numeric or
DN
and
keys to change the value.
UP
After the correct value is displayed press
LIST
The
key may be used to backspace
← BKSP
over the digit just entered for corrections.
