1-4-3. Caution on Replacement of PLD

(Programmable Logic Device)

The following ICs on the DPR-139, EN-139, IF-752, and
CN-1886 boards are PLDs. When replacing these PLDs,
programs must be written in the replaced PLDs.
DPR-139 board: IC106, IC205, IC303, and IC401
EN-139 board: IC1504, IC1505, and IC1601
IF-752 board: IC301 and IC702
CN-1886 board: IC204

. Personal computer (PC):
IBM PC/AT or compatible machine
Operating system Microsoft Windows 95
. Altera Corporation ByteBlasterMV parallel port cable
(ByteBlasterMV)
. Extension board EX-621 (Part No. A-8318-782-A):
Used for extension of DPR-139, EN-139, and IF-752
boards.
. Extension board EX-680 (Part No. J-6409-020-A):
Used for extension of CN-1886 board.
. DFR-3000 maintenance CD-ROM
(Part No. J-6409-130-A)
Procedure
(1) Extend the board, on which the PLD to be
programmed again is mounted, using an extension
board.
Extend the DPR-139, EN-139, and IF-752 boards
using extension board EX-621.
Extend the CN-1886 board using extension board EX-
680.
(2) Connect the parallel port of a PC and the program
download connector on the board, on which the PLD
to be programmed again is mounted, using a
ByteBlasterMV cable.
The download connectors on each board are as
follows:
DPR-139 board: CN701 (A-6)
EN-139 board: CN1900 (A-6)
IF-752 board: CN901 (A-2)
CN-1886 board: CN202 (D-3)
(3) Insert the DFR-3000 maintenance CD-ROM into a PC,
install the download program (MAX PLUS II) of CD-
ROM, and then activate.

(4) Download the PLD program required for the PLD to
be programmed again.

1-4-4. Caution on Replacement of DPR-139
Board
The microcomputer (IC708) on the DPR-139 board stores
the data for setting serial numbers. The data of serial
numbers set before replacement is lost when the DPR-139
board and microcomputer (IC708) are replaced. Therefore,
when replacing the DPR-139 board and microcomputer
(IC708), set the serial numbers again.

. IEEE1284 cable
. DFR-3000 maintenance CD-ROM

Procedure
(1) Connect the parallel port of a PC and the PC interface
connector of DFR-E3000 using an IEEE1284 cable.
(2) Insert the DFR-3000 maintenance CD-ROM into a PC
and activate the DFR-3000 maintenance software of
CD-ROM.
(3) Set the serial number according to the instructions of
DFR-3000 maintenance software.
