    Your TomTom Touch has a touchscreen and can track steps, calories, active time, distance, sleep and heart rate. Tip: Though this product is a TomTom product, it has no GPS so it doesn't do navigation. If you are looking for a product that records your running and cycling routes on the map, and has precise speed, pace and distance calculations, try a TomTom GPS Sports Watch.

    Your Fitness Tracker About your Fitness Tracker 1. Strap fastening - insert both pegs on the strap to make sure your TomTom Touch is securely fastened. 2. Touchscreen - swipe through the touchscreen for an overview of your activity tracking metrics and the different modes.

    DOWN or slide from bottom to top to swipe UP. Wearing your Fitness Tracker The way you wear your TomTom Touch is important because it can affect the performance of the Heart Rate Sensor. For more information on how this sensor works, see The heart rate sensor.

    Continuous heart rate tracking is switched ON by default. Removing the module from the strap You need to remove your TomTom Touch from the wrist strap in order to charge it or to connect it to Sports Connect using your computer.

    2. To put the TomTom Touch module back into the wrist strap, reverse step 1 by inserting the module with the button end first into the strap. Charging your Fitness Tracker Important: You can charge your TomTom Touch using your computer or using any USB wall charger.

    Important: When you perform a factory reset in Sports Connect, all personal data and settings are deleted from your TomTom Touch. This action cannot be undone. You should only use a factory reset as a last resort to restore your TomTom Touch or if you really want to remove all your data and settings.

    Android™ - In the Bluetooth Settings menu of your Android device, unpair or forget your  TomTom Touch, iOS - Go to the iOS Bluetooth Settings screen, click on the (i) icon behind the TomTom Touch  name and select Forget this Device.

    3. Using the USB cable you received with your TomTom Touch, connect the module to your computer. 4. Wait until your TomTom Touch module has charged. Tap the button to see the level of charge in the battery. Tip: You can also charge your device without installing Sports Connect on your computer. It takes 40 minutes to charge the battery to 90% and 1 hour to charge to 100%.

    The TomTom Sports app lets you upload and analyse your activities and see your stats while on the go. Connecting to the Sports app is optional and you can see the same information using Sports Connect on your computer.

    You can also set a goal for active time or a sports activity in the Sports mobile app or on the Sports website. To view your goal progress, all day heart rate, trends and overall progress, sync your TomTom Touch with the Sports mobile app on your phone or with Sports Connect on your computer.

    Note: Distance is not shown during a sports activity on your TomTom Touch or in the app because your TomTom Touch doesn't have GPS. Important: You can wear your TomTom Touch in the shower but it will be damaged if you swim or jump into water while wearing it.

    Troubleshooting If you experience issues with pairing your fitness tracker, follow the steps below: Make sure that you are using the latest version of the TomTom Touch software. If a newer  version is available you can download it using the Sports Connect desktop app.

    Before you pair your fitness tracker with your Android device, make sure that you are using the latest version of the TomTom Sports app and that you have the latest version of the software for your fitness tracker installed. If a newer version of the Sports app is available, you can download it from the Play Store.

When all day heart rate monitoring is switched on, your Fitness Tracker can check your heart rate on a very regular basis during the day and night. Heart rate information improves calorie and active time estimations, and gives a good view of your overall activity during the day.

    Tip: Your calorie measurements include the calories burned by your body just to survive - this is known as your Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR). This is why your TomTom Touch shows a calorie amount when you wake up and have not done any activity yet.

    Tip: Time is classed as ‘active’ when your step rate or motion is above a certain threshold for longer than 10 seconds. 1. Wake up your TomTom Touch by pressing the button. 2. From the clock screen, swipe up three times until you see the time icon.

    For Sports Mode, the heart rate is used to estimate calories. Calories calculations for the TomTom Touch are based on the MET tables of Ainsworth BE, Haskell WL, Herrmann SD, Meckes N, Bassett Jr DR, Tudor-Locke C, Greer JL, Vezina J, Whitt-Glover MC, Leon AS.

    WEIGHT  Information from your profile is used for the following: Date of birth allows your TomTom Touch to calculate your age, which can then be used to  estimate your maximum heart rate. Weight and gender are needed to calculate calories more accurately.

    To update the time zone using your phone, do the following: 1. Make sure you have Bluetooth switched on on your phone. 2. Open the TomTom Sports mobile app. 3. Pull down the Activities screen to sync your tracker with the app.
