This section describes how to configure VLANIF interfaces to implement Layer 3
communication.

3.5.1 Establishing the Configuration Task

Applicable Environment
When the AR3200 needs to communicate with devices at the network layer, you can create
VLANIF interfaces (logical interfaces) on the AR3200. VLANIF interfaces can be assigned IP
addresses because they work at the network layer. The AR3200 communicates with the devices
at the network layer through VLANIF interfaces.
