5. BUMP FEED CUTTING LINE HEAD
NOTE: A protective cover is fitted to the line cutoff blade.
Remove this protective cover before operating. (See Fig. I)
As the end of the line wears away, more line must be
released from the cutting line head. Your trimmer is
factory fitted with a semiautomatic (bump feed) cutting
line head. Line must be released from the cutting head
while it is spinning rapidly. With the engine and cutting
head running at full speed, tap the spool on hard, bare
ground. Do not tap the cutting line head on pavement or
concrete. Each tap releases about 2 inches of line.
MAINTENANCE

1. THE IMPORTANCE OF MAINTENANCE

Good maintenance is essential for safe, economical
and trouble free operation. It will also help to reduce air
pollution. Improperly maintaining this appliance, or failure
to correct a problem before operation, can cause a
malfunction in which you can be seriously injured.

2. SAFETY PRECAUTIONS

1) Make sure the engine is switched off before you begin
any maintenance or repairs.
Ensure the cutting attachments stop at idle speed. This
will help to eliminate several potential hazards:
· Your engines exhaust contains poisonous carbon
monoxide gas, which can collect rapidly in an enclosed
area and cause illness or death.
· Be sure there is adequate ventilation wherever you
operate the engine.
· Burns from hot parts. Avoid contact with exhaust;
a hot exhaust can cause serious burns!
· Let the engine and exhaust system cool before
touching.
· Injury from moving parts – be aware of moving parts.
· Do not run the engine unless instructed to do so.
2) Read ALL instructions before you use this appliance.
3) To reduce the possibility of fire or explosions,
be careful when working with petrol. Use only a
nonflammable solvent, not petrol, to clean parts.
4) Keep cigarettes, sparks, and flames away from all
fuelrelated parts.

3. AIR FILTER CLEANING

A dirty air filter will restrict airflow to the carburetor,
reducing engine performance.
If you operate the engine in very dusty areas, clean the
air filter frequently.
1) Loosen the screw on the air filter cover by using the
Socket Spanner(18) and then pull off the air filter cover.
