Pump primer bulb (12) until fuel is visible and flows freely
in the clear fuel tank return line. Pump bulb an additional
4 or 5 times.
4) Starter pull cord.
Place the unit on a flat, clear area. With your left hand,
hold the frame tube just ahead of the engine.
Lightly place knee on drive shaft to stabilize unit during
starting. To avoid damage do not apply excessive
downward force. Rapidly pull the starter pull cord (15)
with right hand until engine fires. Starting requires several
pulls. NOTE: THE STARTER PULL CORD SHOULD BE
PULLED TO ITS FULL LENGTH.
NOTE: Pump the primer bulb 4 or 5 times and then start
the engine within 10 pulls of the starter pull cord, (See
Fig. H4, H5)
5) Choke Lever
After engine fires, move the choke lever slowly to
the "
" position. Allow engine to warm up for
approximately 1/2 minutes after cold start.
6) Throttle trigger
After engine warms up, close the safety button and
gradually depress the throttle trigger to increase engine
to operation speed.

3. STARTING WARM ENGINE

1) Start/Stop Switch
Move Start / Stop ignition switch to start position.

Leave the choke lever in the "

Pump primer bulb (12) until fuel is visible and flows freely

bulb an additional 4 or 5 times.

Place the unit on a flat, clear area. With your left hand,
hold the frame tube just ahead of the engine. Rapidly pull
the starter pull cord (15) with right hand until engine fires.
Starting requires several pulls. NOTE: THE STARTER
PULL CORD SHOULD BE PULLED TO ITS FULL
LENGTH.

4. STOPPING ENGINE

1) Release throttle trigger
Allow engine to return to idle before shutting off engine.
2) Stop Switch
NOTE: Wait for the cutter blade to stop before allowing
the end of the cutter to come into contact with anything.
NOTE: Do not operate the ignition switch during use.
Always wait for the engine to slow to idle speed before
stopping the engine.
