Authentication to Pearl-2 using DNS login will often fail for Windows Edge, and on Mac OS X 10.10 with Safari,
l
Chrome, and Firefox.
Workaround: Use a different web browser such as Chrome or Internet Explorer, or use a different OS.
When using the Date and time section to synchronize the time using NTP selected as your protocol, using the
l
name of the site as the Server IP Address will not sync the time properly.
Workaround: You must instead use the IP address of the site you wish to use for the Network Time Protocol.
Affecting Epiphan Live
Streaming status on the Epiphan Live Dashboard interface (and touch screen) does not include information
l
regarding Wowza Streaming Cloud transcoder settings.
Workaround: When streaming to Wowza, ensure the transcoder in the Wowza Streaming Cloud web interface
is enabled.
The green and red borders around the "Preview" and "Live" areas in the Channel section are offset from the
l
video by a few pixels.
Workaround: The offset is cosmetic and does not affect your Live stream, so no workaround is required.
When using two or more layouts, the Switcher page in the Epiphan Live UI sometimes shows only part of the
l
source.
Workaround: This occurs when a layer in a layout has only one constraint per dimension. Return to the layout
section and ensure that the dimensions of each layer are fully defined.
When a HDMI output assigned to a Dashboard preview panel has its source changed, the preview panel does
l
not automatically update to reflect the change.
Workaround: Refresh the Epiphan Live Dashboard in your web browser to update any changes in your
preview panels.
Affecting video output ports
Some audio distortion is heard on video output port using PCM 22 kHz encoding or very low frame rate (1-5
l
fps).
Workaround: For best results, use AAC 48 kHz or PCM 48 kHz audio encoding and encode the channel at
higher than 5 frames per second.
Pearl-2 is capable of recording of capturing, streaming and recording a 4K UHD source at 30 fps. However, the
l
frame rate will suffer if Pearl-2 is also simultaneously outputting video to a monitor. When outputting to a
monitor, the capture rate will fall to 28 fps, or even lower if the monitor is requesting UHD video.
Workaround: Driving 4K output to a monitor is power intensive, and puts a heavy load on the CPU. If it is
necessary to output your video to a monitor, better results are achieved if the video output is downscaled to
1080p .
Affecting USB devices
For the Microsoft® LifeCam Studio web camera, changing any settings during the video while the Powerline
l
frequency is set to 60 Hz causes the stream to end.
Workaround: The fault is due to the specific camera's functionality. Set brightness as desired before starting
