deSCriPtion
For use in fish ponds, koi ponds, and large fountains. Can be used in fresh water
to 110° F. Can operate submerged or in-line. Motors are sealed in a biodegradable
lubricant for long life and quiet operation.
SafetY GuideLineS
Do not connect the product to any voltage other than that indicated on the
product label.
To reduce the risk of electrical shock connect the pump to a properly grounded,
grounding-type receptacle. The National Electric Code, and many local building
codes, require the use of a ground fault circuit interrupter (GFCI) on the branch
circuit supplying fountain equipment rated above 15 volts.
Do not place your fingers or any other objects into the pump openings. The pump
impeller rotates at high speed and will strike any object inserted into its path.
Do not run the pump dry. This could damage the pump and void the warranty.
Do not subject the pump to freezing conditions.
Do not open the metal case or attempt to remove the cord. Disassemble only the
portions of the pump listed in the MaINTENaNCE section.
Do not carry or pull the pump by the cord; this damages the internal cord seal.
For outdoor installation, use an approved and properly grounded junction box.
inStaLLation and oPeration
LoCation: Install the pump either submerged in the pond or outside the pond
in open air. Caution: These pumps are NOT SELF-PRIMING. Ensure that the
suction port of the pump is below the surface of the pond. If the pump is
submerged in the pond, the intake should be 6 inches away from the bottom of
the pond to prevent debris from being sucked into the pump. If the pump is not

submerged, locate it so that the length of the suction piping is minimized and
position the pump horizontally or shaft-down. Determine the size of the discharge
piping using friction loss charts or by consulting your local pond professional.
The size of the discharge piping should not be smaller than the discharge port,
and larger piping will improve the performance of the pump.
fiLtration: always use an inlet screen on a submerged pump to prevent
debris from being sucked into the pump. Your pond professional can help you
make the best selection.
eLeCtriCaL SuPPLY: Verify that the power source is of the same voltage and
frequency listed on the pump, then connect the pump to the power source. The
National Electric Code and most local codes REQUIRE that a ground fault circuit
interrupter (GFCI) be installed in the branch circuit feeding your pump. For your own
safety we urge you to comply with this regulation. DO NOT use extension cords.
oPeration: You can reduce the output of the pump by restricting the
discharge. Install a valve in a rigid pipe discharge line, or a tubing clamp on a
flexible tubing discharge line.
MaintenanCe
routine MaintenanCe: Remove the pump housing from the pump body and
clean periodically or when a decrease in flow is noted. Remove only the screws
holding the pump housing to the pump body, since removal of any other screws
will allow the non-toxic lubricant to escape from the sealed housing. Remove the
pump housing from the pump body and carefully clean any debris from the
impeller and pump housing. DO NOT remove the impeller from the motor shaft.
Replace the pump housing taking care to replace the o-ring in the groove on the
pump body.
end-of-SeaSon MaintenanCe: Remove the pump from the pond and clean
it as outlined in the ROUTINE MaINTENaNCE section. Coat the pump housing,
impeller, shaft, and seal with a general purpose oil, then reassemble the pump.

deSCriPtion

Pour réduire le risque de choc électrique, branchez le produit à une prise à la terre.
Le code national de l'électricité et de nombreux codes du bâtiment locaux requièrent
l'utilisation d'un disjoncteur de fuite à la terre (GFCI) sur le circuit de dérivation pour
alimenter l'équipement de la fontaine à plus de 15 volts nominales.
Ne placez pas vos doigts ou tout autre objet dans les ouvertures de la pompe. La roue

la garantie.
N'installez pas la pompe dans des conditions de gel.
N'ouvrez pas le boîtier métallique et ne tentez pas de retirer le cordon. Démontez
uniquement les parties de la pompe qui sont répertoriées dans la section
MaINTENaNCE.
Ne transportez/tirez pas la pompe par le cordon; cela abîme l'étanchéité du
cordon interne.
Pour une installation à l'extérieur, utilisez une boîte de jonction homologuée et
correctement mise à la terre.
