Drawing a Detection Line

12-09-2016 Fri 09:30:15
1. Draw Line:
The pen tool is used to draw a detection line. Click this button
then using the mouse, click once at the start point then click again at the
end point. A detection line will be drawn between the two points. Direction
A and direction B will be shown, denoting the rule that you can apply to the
detection line. A detection line can be drawn at any length and angle within
the image. If needed, change the rule number to draw a new detection line.
In the above right example, a detection line has been drawn just below the
front door entrance. When selecting rule A<->B, motion is detected when an
object has crossed the line from direction A and B. You can apply a different
rule to a detection line without having to redraw it.
2. Clear All:
Click this button to clear the selected detection line.
After drawing a detection line, click "Rule Settings" and select the rule (di-
rection) that you want to apply to the detection line. To adjust the sensitivity,
move the slider to increase or decrease the level according to your needs.

You can select a different rule for each detection line, giv-
ing you flexibility on how motion is detected.
The higher the number, the more sensitive the detection line will be. Some
experimentation may be needed to get the correct sensitivity level. When fin-
ished click "OK" then click "Apply" to save settings.
Please note:
It's very important that you change the recording schedule
for the camera you've selected, otherwise VCA motion events will not
be recorded. When changing the recording schedule, you need to select VCA
(from the event types available) and edit the day and time period that you
want to apply this to - see page 31 for more information.
· Click the "Back" button to go back to the Menu.
