Storage management utilities

The storage management utilities pre-installed on the storage server include the HP Array Configuration
Utility (ACU) or HP Storage Manager for hardware RAID-based systems and Windows Disk Manager.

Array management utilities

Storage devices for RAID arrays and LUNs are created and managed using the array management
utilities. Some storage servers using Smart Array components use the ACU. Other storage servers with
SATA hard disk drives have the HP Storage Manager utility. Review the specifications of the storage
server to determine which array management utility is installed on the system.
NOTE:
The ACU or HP Storage Manager utilities are used to configure and manage array-based storage.
Software RAID-based storage servers use Microsoft Disk Manager to manage storage. You need
administrator or root privileges to run HP Storage Manager or the HP Array Configuration Utility.
Array Configuration Utility
The HP ACU supports the Smart Array controllers and SCSI hard drives installed on the storage server.
To open HP Storage Manager:
1.
Select Start > Programs > HP Management Tools > Array Configuration Utility.
2.
Log on to the ACU.
3. The default user name is administrator and the default password is hpinvent.
To open the ACU in browser mode:
1. Open the ACU on the host.
