3-30 Setting up the Pi5500 from a Windows Computer
Paper Setup
On the Paper Setup tab, you can set most of the same options that appear on the
Pi5500 Control Panel for PS Setup.
Default Paper Sizes
Legal, Tabloid), or Metric paper sizes (for example, A4 or A3) by default. When no
page size is defined within a PostScript file, jobs are printed on Letter paper if you
select US; A4 paper if you select Metric.
Print Cover Page

page containing the name of the user who sent the job, the document name, the server
name, the time the job was printed, the number of pages printed, and the status of the
job. If a PostScript error occurs and the Print to PS Error option is set to Yes, the Cover

Allow Courier Substitution
fonts. When this option is off, jobs requiring fonts not available on the Pi5500 hard
driver generate a PostScript error and do not print. This setting does not apply to PDF
files; font substitution occurs automatically for PDF files.
Print to PS Error
print job when it encounters a PostScript error. In general, this option should be set to

• When this option is set to No, printing of the entire job is canceled when a
PostScript error occurs, but the processed portion of the job and the PostScript error
information are stored on the Pi5500. You can view the job and the error
information from the job management tools.
• When this option is set to Yes, the portion of the job processed before the error
occurred is printed.
Convert Paper Sizes
automatically to the default paper sizes specified. For example, if you select Letter/
