TIP
It is a highly recommended practice to always go through these basic SET
UP PROCEDURES, after every 1 to 2 cooking's. This will ensure proper
ignition, heat output and many continuous happy grilling experiences.

Start-Up Procedure - Automatic

Always check the burn pot,
NOTE:
burn grate, igniter, flame broiler,
cooking surfaces, hopper and
wood pellet fuel before starting
your grill.
1. Plug the power cord into a 110 Volt, grounded electrical outlet. DO NOT break the ground end off
the cord or use a non-grounded outlet or extension cord.
2. Open the hopper lid. Ensure that there are no foreign objects in the hopper or feed system.
3. Fill the hopper with dry, all natural, 100% hardwood bbq pellets.
NOTE: DO NOT leave open bag unprotected from moisture. Place in air-tight container.
4. Press the ON / OFF touch pad.
The "Start Up" mode will begin.
The Feed system will begin to feed fuel at a preset rate, for a preset amount of time, the igniter will
begin to get hot, and the fan will begin to operate.
The Start Up mode is timed to last 20 minutes or until the appliance reaches an operating temperature
of 150°F.
5. Press the TEMP touch pad to display the SETPOINT.
6. Press the ARROW UP or DOWN buttons to a HIGH temperature to preheat and clean your grill.
NOTE: IT IS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED TO ALWAYS PREHEAT YOUR GRILL BEFORE
ADJUSTING TO YOUR FINAL TEMPERATURE.
7. After allowing the grill to PREHEAT, use the arrow touch pads to adjust the temperature to final Desired
temperature.
TIP:
When reducing your desired temperature to a lower setting, it is highly recommended
to lift the lid until the ACTUAL temperature is relatively close to the new DESIRED temperature.

Start-Up Procedure - Manual

1. Plug the power cord into a 110 Volt, grounded electrical outlet. DO NOT break the ground end off the cord
or use a non-grounded outlet or extension cord.
2. Open the hopper lid. Ensure that there are NO foreign objects in the hopper or feed system.
Fill the hopper only with dry, all natural, bbq wood pellets.
3. Remove the main cooking grids and 2pc flame broiler.
4. Remove and clean the burn grate. Ensure the grate is seated correctly in the burn pot.
5. Place 2 generous handfuls of pellets into the burn grate.
6. Using a gelled fire starter, or other approved pellet starter, place on top of the pellets.
7. Light the starter using a long fireplace match, long lighter, or electric fire starter.
WARNING:
BURNING OR INTO A HOT BURN GRATE. YOU COULD EXPERIENCE A
BURN BACK AND YOU COULD BE SERIOUSLY BURNT.
8.
Allow the STARTER to burn for 3 to 5 minutes.
9. Carefully and quickly replace the 2 pc. Flame broiler, and the main cooking grids.
10. Follow STEPS 4 to 7 found in AUTOMATIC START-UP procedures.
