Rear fork
l. Remove the rear wheel. (Se e page 75.)
2. Remove the rear shock absorbers. (See page 80.)
3. Remove the bolts securing the drive chain case in pIace;
take out the chain case.
4. Remove the left crankcase rear cover and chain protector.
Disengage the drive chain from the drive sprocket.
5. Unscrew the self-locking nut and withdraw the rear fork
pivot botto Remove the rear fork from the frame together
with drive chain. '

Inspection
1. Check the t'ree length of the rear shock absorber spring.
Standard value:
210.4mm (S.28-in.)
Service limit:
20Smm (S.07-in.)
2. Check the rear damper for dis1ortion or oilleaks.
3. Check the rear rubber stop for cracks or damage.
4. Check the rear fork center collar-to-bushing clearance.
Standard Bushing I.D.: 21.S0-21.S33mm
(0.S46S-0.S47S-in.)
Service limit: 216 mm (O.SS04-in.)
Standard center collar O.D.: 21.472-21.493mm
(O .S4S4-0.S462-in.)
Service limit:
21.4 mm (0.S42S-in.)
5. Check the rear fork for bendo

Assembly
1. Apply a coating of grease to the rear fork center collar
before installation. lnstall the rear fork to the frame.
2. Reaching from the right 'side, insert the rear fork pivot bolt
in the fork pivot and secure with the self-locking fiuto

3. Using "Rear
Shock Absorber Compressor" (Tool No.
07959-3290000),
compress the rear shock absorber spring
and pull up the upper joint. lnstall the spring seat stops to
se cure the spring.
NOTE:
InstaU the shock absorber spring so that the end with the
large pitch is at the bottom.
4. After assembly,. grease the rear fork pivot at the grease
fitting.
