Getting started

Setting up the product and assigning the accessories
1. Make sure that the on/off switch is in the "OFF" position.
2. Insert the batteries by following the instructions on page 11.
3. Insert the vertical barrier in the middle of the electronic base. Make sure to insert
it in the correct position.
4. Choose one side of the electronic base: Imperial (use black accessories) or Rebel
(use white accessories). The Imperial side is where the on/off switch is located.
5. Assign the 10 ships: 5 black ships to one player, 5 white ships to the other player.
6. Assign the 10 flags: 5 black flags to one player, 5 white flags to the other player.
7. Assign the 6 attack cards: 3 Imperial cards (with white back) to one player, 3 Rebel
cards (with red back) to the other player.
8. Assign the 2 inlay cards: 1 for each player, to be put under the player grid.
Note: The inlay cards do not affect the gameplay. Their purpose is exclusively
decorative.
9. Split the white and red pegs between players. Use the compartments on both
sides of the player grid to store them safely while playing.
Fleet deployment
You must now deploy your fleet on the player grid. Make sure your opponent does
not see anything! Each player has 5 ships, which can be arranged by respecting the
following rules:
-
The ships can be arranged horizontally on the grid, rows A to J.
-
The ships can be arranged vertically on the grid, columns 0 to 9.
-
The ships cannot be arranged diagonally.
-
The ships cannot overlap other ships.
As seen in the diagram below, each ship occupies a certain number of consecutive
squares:
-
Star Destroyer/Mon Calamari Star Cruiser:
5 squares in a line (A0, A1, A2, A3, A4)
-
TIE Interceptor/Millennium Falcon:
4 squares in a square shape (B5, B6, C5, C6)
-
TIE Bomber/Y-wing Starfighter:
3 squares in a line (C0, C1, C2)
-
TIE Fighter/X-wing Starfighter:
2 squares in a line (D0, D1)
Note: If you want, you can play with fewer
ships. The rules do not change. Just make
sure that both players use the same number
and type of ships, to keep the game fair.
