7.3 Description of OSD menu
Only moderate image?
If the image is not satisfactory, a fine adjustment can be carried out using "Force Mode 2" or
"Position/Zoom" and "Frequency/Phase".

7.3.6.2
Force Mode 2
Force Mode 2 is used for step-by-step approximation of an unknown timing.
Determine start values using autofunction
The following commands can be used to trigger automatic determination of the timing data,
and provides rough approximation of the applied timing.
1. Create test pattern with clearly defined frame (e.g. SMPTE image).
2. Menu → Servicelevel 2 → Force Mode → Force Mode 2.
3. Select Mode 1.
4. Execute "Force" command.
Define resolution
The following steps should only be carried out if the image is unrecognizable.
1. Enter the horizontal and vertical resolutions of the image signal in the first two data fields.
This is the start value for step-by-step optimization. Therefore estimated values can also
be entered. If no value is known, enter 1280 x 1024 for the display resolution.
2. Select Mode 3.
3. Execute "Force" command.
Optimize scanning frequency
The correct signal frequency must now be set.
1. Display a pixel on/pixel off test pattern (if not available, SMPTE image can also be used).
2. Optimize the signal frequency in the data field "Total horizontal lines" so that the vertical
lines of the test pattern are displayed perfectly.
Note: If the data field value in step 2 is at the limit, "Force" must be carried out. The value
"Total horizontal lines" must be greater than the value "Horizontal resolution".
3. Select Mode 3.
4. Execute "Force" command.
