18. Connect the external cables and the power cord to the computer.

Replacing the I/O bracket

Attention: Do not open your computer or attempt any repair before reading and understanding the Chapter
1 "Read this first: Important safety information" on page 1.
To replace the I/O bracket, do the following:
1. Remove any media from the drives and turn off all connected devices and the computer. Then,
disconnect all power cords from electrical outlets and disconnect all cables that are connected to the
computer.
2. Remove the computer stand. See "Replacing the computer stand" on page 89.
3. Remove the computer cover. See "Removing the computer cover" on page 94.
4. Remove the system board shield. See "Replacing the system board shield" on page 96.
5. Remove the Wi-Fi card. See "Replacing the M.2 Wi-Fi card" on page 97.
6. Remove the heat sink. See "Replacing the heat sink" on page 99.
7. Remove the memory module. See "Replacing a memory module" on page 101.
8. Remove the system board. See "Replacing the system board" on page 104.
9. Locate the I/O bracket. See "Computer components" on page 29.
10. Remove the two screws that secure the I/O bracket. Then, lift the bracket out of the chassis.

11. Align the screw holes in the new I/O bracket with the holes in the chassis. Then, install the two screws
to secure the bracket to the chassis.
