1. Remove any media from the drives and turn off all connected devices and the computer. Then,
disconnect all power cords from electrical outlets and disconnect all cables that are connected to the
computer.
2. Remove the computer stand. See "Replacing the computer stand" on page 89.
3. Remove the computer cover. See "Removing the computer cover" on page 94.
4. Remove the system board shield. See "Replacing the system board shield" on page 96.
5. Locate the memory module. See "Computer components" on page 29.
1. Open the retaining clips and gently pull the memory module out of the memory slot.

2. Position a new memory module over the memory slot. Ensure that the notch
aligns correctly with the slot key

Replacing the coin-cell battery

Your computer has a special type of memory that maintains the date, time, and settings for built-in features,
such as parallel-connector assignments (configuration). A coin-cell battery keeps this information active
when you turn off the computer.
