TROUBLE SHOOTING
Problem(s)
The saw will not start.
The saw
cuts unsatisfactorily.
The saw makes
unusual sounds.
Heavy sparking inside
the motor housing.

Possible Cause(s)
No supply of power.
Brushes have worn or
are sticking.
The trigger switch is faulty.
Motor components are worn or
short-circuited.
The cord is damaged.
Dull, damaged or incorrect
blade type.
The motor is overloaded.
Mechanical obstruction.
The armature has
shortened sections.
The blade is out of balance.
The brushes are not
moving freely.
The armature has short-
circuited or is open circuited.
The commutator is dirty.
Suggested Solution(s)
Check that the power cable is properly
connected and that there is power at
the outlet.
Disconnect the power, remove the
brush caps and ensure that the
brushes move freely in the holders.
Check whether the brushes
require replacing.
Replace the trigger switch.
Replace defective components.
Replace the power cord.
Sharpen or replace the blade.
Reduce the amount of pushing
pressure exerted on the saw.
Clean the interior of the saw and
replace any defective components.
Replace the blade.
Inspect the blade and re-install
the blade.
Inspect the carbon brushes. Clean or
replace worn out brushes.

defective components.
