Be sure the area around the selected location is clear of obstacles (such as steel beams, headers, pipes, electrical wiring, etc.) which would interfere with the mounting of the camera and that the location can support the weight of the unit [the VND-970IP unit weighs 1.3 lb (0.6 kg)]. Route all necessary cables to the installation location.

    DHCP server. Refer to Appendix for instructions on locating cameras with unknown IP addresses. Network Settings The default IP address of the VND-970IP camera dome is 192.168.0.100. Make sure the IP camera and your PC are on the same network subnet mask (segment) before attempting to access the camera. Be sure to make a note of the PC’s IP address before it is changed.

This section highlights only those features that are relevant to ViconNet. If the camera is not being used with ViconNet, refer to Appendix A for additional settings.

  • Page 16 “Use fixed IP address”; then the camera will skip installation at the next boot. The camera supports both DHCP and static IP addresses; Vicon recommends a fixed IP address for easier manageability. The camera can automatically restart and operate normally after a power outage.

    The information in this appendix is intended to explain how to use the Installation Wizard that is on the CD provided with the camera. This utility is similar to VNSetup on Vicon cameras. Vicon recommends that this utility be used only as a tool to find an unknown IP address for a camera and to upgrade the firmware.
