Chapter 7: TROUBLESHOOTING

This chapter provides general troubleshooting tips in addition to network tests and diagnostics information
for Avaya Secure Router 3120s.

Alarms and Secure Router 3120 Status

All Secure Router 3120s report various alarms upon detecting certain irregular conditions in
the incoming WAN, or Serial signals. For more information about the command line interface
and Secure Router 3120 commands, see the Command Reference Guides .
Note:
The slot and/or interface number is required for commands displaying information on specific
interfaces. If this information is not included when the command is issued, the Secure Router
3120 prompts for it. For more information about a command, access command help by
typing help <command name> and pressing Return.
To view alarms, use one of the following commands:
• show module alarms e1
Use this command to view the current alarms for any E1 WAN link of the Secure Router
3120.
• show module alarms t1
Use this command to view the current alarms for any T1 WAN link of the Secure Router
3120.
• show module alarms serial
Use this command to display the alarms for the Serial port.
• show module alarms t3
Use this command to view the current T3 port alarms.
You can display the current configuration and operating status of each WAN link or serial
interface port. To do this, use one of the following commands:
• show module configuration e1
