INSTALLATION
Refer to the following sections for additional modem configuration instructions.
USR Sportster
Dip Switches on USR modems
1. down (DTR Override)
2. up or down (either is OK)
3. up (Suppress result codes)
4. down (No echo)
5. up (Answer on the first ring)
6. down (DCD Override)
7. up (Load NVRAM [not factory])
8. up (Dumb Mode)
To configure the modem:
1. Set dip switch eight (8) down.
2. Cycle the modem's power switch to the ON position.
3. Connect to the modem via serial terminal software.
4. Send the following command string to the modem, (this will set the modem to factory

6. Cycle the modem power switch again.
