To guard against overturning:
-
Do not stop or start suddenly when you go
up or downhill;
-
Engage the clutch slowly, always keep the
machine in gear, when you go downhill;
-
Low speed must be used when you work
on slopes and when you make tight turns;
-
Stay alert for humps and hollows and other
not seen hazards;
-
Never use a mower across the face of the
slope, unless the machine is for this
purpose;
f)
When pulling loads or using heavy
equipment, be careful;
-
Use only approved drawbars;
-
Limit loads to those you can safely control;
-
Do not turn suddenly. Be careful when you
move in a reverse direction;
-
Use counterweight(s) or wheel weights
when recommended in the instruction
handbook;
g)
Be careful of traffic when you move across
or near roadways;
h)
Stop the blades rotating before you move
across surfaces except on grass;
i)
Do not direct grass toward persons or allow
persons near the machine when in
operation;
j)
Do not operate the machine with damaged
guards, or without safety devices in
position;
k)
Do not change the engine governor
settings or over speed the engine. To
operate the engine at more than the
suppliers set speed can increase the
hazard of personal injury;
l)
When you leave the operator's position:
-
Disengage the drive to the attachments and
lower to the ground.
-
Change into neutral and set the parking
brake;
-
Stop the engine and remove the key;
m)
Disengage the drive to attachments, stop
the engine, disconnect the spark plug wire
and remove the ignition key:
-
Before, you remove a blockage or you
clean a grass chute;
-
Before you check, clean or work on the
machine;
-
After, you hit an object. Inspect the
machine for damage and make repairs
before you restart and operate the
equipment;
-
If the machine begins to vibrate, check
immediately;
n)
disengage the drive to attachments when
transporting or not in operation;
o)
stop the engine and disengage drive to
attachment:
-
Before, you refuel;
-
Before, you remove the grassbox;
-
Before, you make height adjustment unless
adjustment can be made from the
operator's position;
p)
Decrease the throttle setting during the
engine run-out and, if the engine has a
shut-off valve, turn the fuel off at the end of
mowing.
3.1.4 Maintenance and storage
a)
keep all nuts, bolts and screws tight to
make sure the equipment is in safe working
condition;
b)
Do not store the equipment with petrol in
the tank inside a building where fumes can
reach an open flame or spark;
c)
When you store in any enclosed area, allow
the engine to become cool first;
d)
to decrease the fire hazard, keep the
engine, silencer, battery compartment and
petrol storage area free from grass, leaves,
or grease;
e)
Check the grass collector often for wear or
damage;
f)
Replace worn or damaged parts for safety;
g)
If the fuel tank is drained, do this outdoors.
and:
a)
On machines with many blades, be careful
when you rotate one blade, it can cause
other blades to rotate.;
b)
When the machine is parked, stored or left
without an operator, lower the cutting
device unless a positive mechanical lock is
used.
