7 Assembling the Trimmer
7.1 Combinations of Cutting Attachments and
Deflectors
The following mowing heads may be mounted together with
the deflector for mowing heads:
– AutoCut 2-2 mowing head with 1.6 mm diameter "round,
quiet" nylon line
Mowing head cannot be installed by the user.
► Have the required mowing head installed by a STIHL
servicing dealer.

Mounting Deflector for Mowing Heads

► Switch off the trimmer and remove the battery.

The line limiter blade (1) is already installed in the deflector
(2) and must not be removed.
► Push the deflector (2) into the guides on the housing as far
as stop.
The deflector (2) is tight against the housing.
► Insert and tighten down the screws (3).
The deflector (2) must not be removed again.

STIHL AutoCut 2-2 Mowing Head

7.3.1 Installing the Spool
► Switch off the trimmer and remove the battery.

► Thread the ends of the nylon lines (1) from the spool (2)
through the openings (5) in the mowing head (4).
► Insert the spool (2) in the mowing head (4).
► Fit the cover (6) on the mowing head (2) so that its tabs
(3) line up with the openings (5) in the mowing head (4).
► Push the cover (6) onto the mowing head (4) as far as
stop.
The tabs (3) engage audibly.
7.3.2 Removing the Spool
► Switch off the trimmer and remove the battery.

► Press in the tabs (1) and remove the cover (3).
► Remove the spool (2).
