Application

OR Instruments (OP)

Process OP instruments as soon as
possible after use.
The preferred program is DES-VAR-TD.
For OR instruments with a longer wait
time, use the OXIVARIO or
ORTHOVARIO process (see section on
"Special options").
Surgical instruments, even those for
minimally invasive procedures, should
be thermally disinfected for best
results.
Whenever possible, demineralized
water should be used for rinsing
(conductivity ß 15 ZS/cm), for a
spotless result and to avoid corrosion.
The use of tap water with more than
100 mg chloride/l entails the risk of
corrosion.
OR Containers can be processed
thermally (with the CONTAINER
program) or thermochemically. For
anodized aluminum containers,
demineralized water must be used both
for cleaning and for rinsing. They
should NOT be cleaned according to
§ 18 of the IfSG (at 93°C and 10 min
holding time, with an alkaline
detergent).
The units for OR instruments and OR
containers come with their own
instructions for use.
28
When processing instruments for
minimally invasive procedures, e.g.,
endosurgery, it is essential that the
insides be thoroughly cleaned before
washing. Only the programs
DES-VAR-TD and OXIVARIO are
suitable for thorough cleaning. Always
observe the specific loading
regulations and all applicable
procedures, including the use of
appropriate detergents for these
sensitive instruments.
For rinsing, use demineralized water
with a conductivity of ~15 ZS/cm
(microsiemens per centimetre).
,
Insert E 929 (for
ophthalmological OR instruments)
must only be used in
washer-disinfectors that do NOT
have a dispensing system with a
flow rate of 465 ml/min installed.
,
In washer-disinfectors used to
process small-caliber
ophthalmological instruments,
plastic netting must not be used.
