Chapter 2 Preparations

Removing the Front Bezel

Remove the front bezel when turning the server on or off, or handling an optical disk drive.
1.
Unlock the front bezel by using the attached bezel lock key.
2.
Hold the right end of the front bezel carefully to pull it toward you.
3.
Slide the front bezel to the left a little to release the tab from the frame and then remove the front bezel
from the server.

Removing the Top Cover

To install/remove the internal optional parts or change the internal cable connection, remove the top cover.
1.
Unlock the chassis, if necessary.
2.
Slide back the top cover while pressing its release button.
3.
Lift the top cover off the server.

Important
Remove the cable connected to the PCI board such as a LAN board first
when removing the top cover. Failure to do so may damage the cable.
