DeckWheels
Thewheels on thefront ofthe deckareequipped witha grease fitting. Lubricate
with aNo.2 multi-purpose grease applied with a grease gunafter every25 hoursof
tractoroperation.
Pivot Points & Linkage
Lubricate allthepivotpoints o nthedrive system, parking b rake and lift linkage a t
least o nce a season withlightoil.
Adjustments
Shutthe engine off, removethe ignition keyandengagethe parkingbrake
before making adjustments.Protectyour handsby usingheavy gloves
when handlingthe blades.
NOTE: C heck t he tractor'stire pressure beforeperforminganydeckleveling
adjustments. R efer t o Tires on page11for informationregarding tire pressure.
Adjusting the Deck
Levelingthe Deck(Front-To-Rear)
Thefront ofthe cuttingdeckissupported byastabilizerbarthatcanbeadjusted to
levelthe deckfromfront to rear. T hefront of thedeckshouldbebetween1/4-%"
lowerthanthe rearofthe deck.Adjustif necessary a sfollows:
1.
Parkthe tractoronafirm, levelsurface andplace the decklift leverinthe
middlepositionandrotatethe bladenearest t he discharge c hutesothat it is
parallelwith thetractor.
2.
Measure the distance from the front ofthe bladetip to the groundandthe
rearofthe bladetip to the ground.Thefront of the deck shouldbebetween
1A-3/8" lessthanthe rearofdeck.
3.
Determine the approximate distance necessary for properadjustment a nd
proceed, i f necessary.
4.
Toraise the front of the deck,loosenthe outernut thentighten (thread
inward)the nut against t he front hangerbracket. S ee Figure 18.When
properadjustment i sachieved, re-tightenthe outernut to 25-30ft.-Ibs.
5.
Tolowerthe front ofthe deck,loosen the outernut thenloosen(thread
outward)the nut,awayfrom thefront hanger b racket. S eeFigure 18.When
properadjustmentisachieved, re-tightenthe outernut.
Levelingthe Deck(Side-to-Side)
Ifthe cuttingdeckappears to be mowingunevenly, asideto sideadjustmentcanbe
performed. A djustif necessary a sfollows:
1.
With the tractorparkedonafirm, levelsurface, p lacethe decklift leverin
the middlepositionandrotatebothbladessothat theyareperpendicular
with the tractor.
2.
Measure the distance fromthe outsideof the left bladetip to the ground
andthedistance from the outside of the rightbladetip to the ground.Both
measurements takenshouldbeequal.Ifthey'renot,proceed to the next
step.
3.
Underthe rearfenders insidethe wheels there isa liftadjustment rod for
each side of the deck. See Figure19.

Minorside-to-side adjustments shouldbemadeusingprimarilythe left
adjustmentrod.
5.
Toraisethe left sideof the deck,loosenthe uppernut onthe endofthe
lift rod,thenturn the lowernut clockwise. Whenthe properadjustmentis
achieved, tighten the uppernut tosecure in place. T olowerthe left sideof
the deck,loosenthe uppernut on the endofthe lift rod,thenturn the lower
nut counterclockwise. When the proper a djustment i s achieved, tightenthe
uppernutto 25-30ft-lbs,to secure inplace.
6.
Thedeckisproperly leveledwhenboth bladetip measurements takenearlier
areequal.
Adjusting the DeckHeight
Theheightof the deck canbeadjustedtoensurethatthe settingonyourdeck
heightleverisaccurate. T oadjustthe deckheightproceed asfollows:
1.
Parkthe tractorona firm, levelsurface andplacethe decklift leverinthe
highestposition(4")androtatethe bladenearest t he discharge c hutesothat
it isperpendicular with the tractor.
