Throttle/Choke ControlLever
Thethrottle/choke controlleverislocated onthe left sideofthe
tractor'sdashpanel.Thislevercontrols the speed ofthe engineand,
whenpushed all the wayforward,pastthe detentpositioncloses the
chokeforcoldstarting.Whensetin agivenposition, t he throttle will
maintaina uniformenginespeed.
NOTE: Whenoperating the tractorwith the cuttingdeck
engaged, b ecertainthatthe throtNe/choke control i salwaysin
the FAST position.
DeckLift Lever
Theliftlever islocated inthe right fenderandisusedto raiseandlower the deck.
Pullthe handleto the left out of the index notchandpushdownwardto lowerthe
deck,or pullupwardto raisethe deck.Whenthedesiredheightisattained,move
the lift handleto the right until fullyinthe index notch.
ignition Module
Neverleavea runningmachine
unattended.Alwaysdisengage PTO, s et
parking brake,stopengine andremove
keyto prevent u nintendedstarting.
Tostart theengine,insertthe keyinto the
ignitionswitchandturnclockwise to the
START (_) position.Release t he keyinto the
NORMAL M OWING M ODE _
_ positiononce
the enginehasfired.
Tostopthe engine,turn the ignition keycounterclockwise to the STOP _ position.

PowerTake-Off(PTO)Switch
ThePTO switchislocated onthe dashpanel t o the right ofthe
LCD Service Minder& HourMeter.
Activating the PTO engages powerto the cuttingdeckor other
(separately a vailable) a ttachments.

Transmission BypassBoa
Thetransmission b ypass rodislocatedatthe rearof the tractoron the lowerright
sectionof the frame.
Whenengaged, t he rodopens abypass within the hydrostatic transmissions, which
allowsthe tractorto be pushed shortdistances b yhand.Refer t o the Assembly &
Set-Up sectionforinstructions onusingthe bypass f eature.
ParkBrake/CruiseControlLever
Located i nthecenter o fthetractor's dashpanel b elow thesteering wheel, t heparkbrake/
cruise control l ever i sused toengage theparking brake andthecruise control. R efer to the

regarding t he parking brake.
NOTE: Theparkingbrake mustbesetifthe operatorleaves the seatwith the
enginerunningor the enginewill automatically shutoff.
NOTE: Cruise controlcanNOT beengaged atthe tractor'sfastestground
speed.
Neverleavea running machineunattended.Alwaysdisengagethe PTO,
setthe parking brake,stop the engine andremovethe keyto prevent
unintendedstarting.
LCD ServiceMinder& HourMeter
When the ignitionkeyisrotated outof theSTOP _ position
butnotintotheSTART (_ position, t heLCD Service M inder
andHourMeter w ill brieflydisplay thebatteryvoltage,
followed bythetractor's accumulated hours.
NOTE: H ours oftractoroperationarerecorded
anytime the ignitionkeyisrotatedout ofthe
STOP _ position,regardless o f whetherthe engineisstarted.
TheLCD Service Minderwill remindthe operatorof maintenance i ntervals for
changingthe engine oil, airfilter service, l owengineoil andlow batterywarnings.
ChangeOil
The LCD will display theletters"CHG", followed bythe letters"OIL", followed bythe
letters"SOON",
thenfinallyfollowed bythemeter's accumulated time."CHG/OIL/SOON/
TIME" w ill alternate o nthedisplay for7minutes afterthe meterreaches 50hours. This oil
service minder i nterval will occur e very 50hours. B efore theinterval expires, change t he
engine oilasinstructed intheMaintenance section of theEngine O perator's Manual
LowOil (If so equipped)
Theletters"LO" followed bytheletters"OIL",
thenfollowed bythemeter's accumulated
timewill indicate thetractor islowonoil.When anengine isnotrunning and
immediately
aftertheengine is startedtheoilpressure m aybelow.This can trigger
the "LO" " OIL" t ext. Thisis normal.Ifthelowoilindication persists s topthetractor
immediately
andcheck theengine oillevel a sinstructed inthe Engine O perator's Manual.
NOTE: The"LOW OIL" functiononlyworksif theengineisequipped with an
oil pressure s witch.
